I seem to have a thing for painting train tracks. I enjoy the challenge of drawing those parallel
tracks receding into the distance and describing how the landscape has been altered to accommodate
the train.
This particular painting depicts a tunnel for the CSX freight line, located along the Schuylkill River
just below the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was a warmish autumn day, which accounts for the
color of the foliage on the bank.
