STATION GALLERY PRESENTS
INSIDE/OUTSIDE: KATE KERN MUNDIE and JAMES G. MUNDIE,
6 to 28 JUNE 2008
PHILADELPHIA COUPLE EXHIBITS ARTWORK TOGETHER FOR FIRST TIME
GREENVILLE DE – This June, The Station Gallery in Greenville, Delaware, presents an exhibition by
Philadelphia artists Kate and James Mundie. Inside/Outside: Kate Kern Mundie and James G. Mundie features
new and recent works in drawing, painting and printmaking by this couple, who are exhibiting together for the
very first time. As the title suggests, the theme is interior spaces by Kate Kern Mundie — ranging from her
own living room to the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris; and land- and cityscapes by James Mundie — from large
paintings of County Donegal in Ireland to woodcuts from the shores of Cape Cod.
The exhibition begins June 6th and continues through June 28th, 2008. An opening reception will take place on Friday, June 6th from 5:00 to
8:00 P.M. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public. For more information,
please visit www.stationgallery.net.
Although they have been living and working together for nearly fifteen years, this exhibition marks the first
time James and Kate Mundie have shown their work together. “We've shared studio space and have been each
other's best critic for years,” James Mundie says, “but we've usually pursued independent routes because our
work is so different. However, this exhibition makes sense as much of the work on display has come about through
our mutual travels.” “I welcomed this opportunity to show our work together because we've never been able to
do that before,” Kate Mundie says. “This is an aspect of our private lives that we can share with a wider
audience.”
