Untitled
Monotype print in black ink on rag paper, 6 x 6 inches (15.24 x 15.24 cm)
This print was inspired by the tiny tree-covered islands one encounters all along the coastline of Maine. Depending on the light and weather, they sometimes appear as a dark silhouette, and when approached by boat, the vegetation is often quite dense despite the constant assault by cold wind and waves. These trees are a testament to the will of nature to always find a way, even on a hunk of stone in the North Atlantic.
